Swings For The First Time

Last weekend when we were out at Grammy and Papa's house Jack went in the swing for the first time and as you can tell from the pictures and the video he loved it. I am so glad that spring is here and we can spend more time outside!

I Saw God Today...

Today I was listening to the radio and heard my newest favorite song by George Strait "I Saw God Today" These are the way that I see God every day.

I saw God today...

  • in my children's eyes.

  • in spring emerging all around us.

  • in the beauty of a sunset.

  • in the laughter of my children.

First Day At The Beach: April 18th

Today was our first trip to the beach for 2008; who would have thought that we should have brought a swimsuit for Allie.

Allie didn't skip a beat, she walked right into the COLD water!

Jack enjoyed taking in the sights and watching his big sister.

Allie loved walking through the mud and running in the water. She found her footprints in the mud very cool.

Our happy baby boy.

What an great afternoon at the beach, here's to many more to come!
Here are two video clips from our day.

A Day At The Park

Today was one of those BEAUTIFUL spring days, the kids and I headed to the park. Allie loves going to the park, we pass by it almost everyday and she always asks if we can go to the park. All winter long the answer was "Sorry Allie it's too cold, we can go when it gets warmer." So, you can imagine how excited she was to go today.

It was so strange, in so many ways it feels like it was just a few days ago that we were last there. But it has been at least 6 months! Jack loved it; he just loves to watch kids play, especially Allie. He was such a good boy and sat in the stroller for just about the whole time that we were there.

Allie had a great time running around and climbing the playscape and sliding down the slides. After we had been there for a bit, Allies friend Callie from school came with her mom and Allie was so excited! They had a great time following each other around and going down the "big kid" slides.

What would a day at the park be if you didn't go for a ride on the swings? Up until now Allie has only gone on the "baby" swings, but today we tried the band swing and she did a great job and she loved it!

Dinner Time & Bath Time

Dinnertime is always so much fun; no matter what Allie always wants to wait for Daddy to get home to have dinner. Now that Jack is eating solid foods we all sit together at the table at the same time. Things sometimes get a little crazy.

After dinner it is bath time and Allie and Jack LOVE taking a bath together. Jack sits in the tub ring and just giggles away at Allie. Now Allie only wants to take baths with her "brutha".

I can't believe...

-that Allie is almost 3 and that Jack will be 1 in four months!

-how different you both are already. Allie, you love to sleep in and take super long naps and Jack you are my early morning riser.

-how much I love you both and how much it grows as the days pass by. It doesn't seem possible, but it's true.

-how much you love each other and play so well together.

-how much I love hearing you both laugh.

-how much your (Jack's) belly laugh makes me smile.

-how wonderful of a big sister you (Allie) are.

Busy Days and Mermaids...

As I'm sure is the same for everyone, life has been busy for us. Nothing special just daily life busy; we are living life with 2 children under the age of 3. Allie just amazes us everyday- she is so funny. Her newest thing is that she is a mermaid. We have finally figured out where this started from, she LOVES Little Bear and Little Bear has a mermaid that visits him. This winter Allie started taking gymnastics and she loves it.

We take it on Saturdays with my friend Melissa and her daughter Lilly. They have so much fun (and the mommies do too). As for Jack, he turned 8 months old yesterday! I find this so hard to believe; it feels like just yesterday he was an infant. He is such a good baby. He loves anything that has to do with Allie, even just seeing her makes him smile and giggle. Last time he was weighed he weighed 22 lbs. and that was well over a month ago, so you can just imagine how big he is.

I have also started a blog called Place 4 Mommies, which is my mommy soap box about things that I feel are important. I have also started one called Tell Me A Story, which is going to be a chronicle/journal of our family and a way to keep friends and family up dated, these are my mommy things (well other than scrapbooking). Matt has been busy with work and other outside projects. We are all anticipating the arrival of spring; hopefully soon. We are itching to get outside, all for our own reasons; Allies to play, Matt's to do yard clean up and I am dying to get out into my garden and get it cleaned up and ready for a new season and to play with the kids in the yard. I promise I will have more pictures to come, especially some of Jack.

Welcome to Our Blog

April 3, 2008

Allie and Jack are my real motivation behind starting this blog. Everyday they amaze me in one way or another and I can't believe how quickly they are changing. This is also a way for me to keep family and friends updated to what is going on with our family.

The big news is that Jack turned 8 months old yesterday!
